Pizza and Salad

Dave loves ranch dressing, but it's something I'd never made before. I was really tired a few days ago and wanted to make a really simple dinner. We had lettuce, and some semi-stale French bread. Pizza bread and salad! I looked up recipes for ranch dressing online and then sort of made my own version. I used buttermilk and mayo, 1:1, and added a bit of milk to thin it out. To season, I used salt, pepper, celery seed, and some finely diced dill pickle since I didn't have any fresh dill. It actually came out rather well. On the pizza I used up some Kasseri cheese. It was a good choice-the Kasseri and mozzarella combination made for a very tasty pizza.
I love when a meal comes together so easily!

  1. So creative! I like making my own salad dressings. I've never made Ranch but have done Russian and a variety of Vinaigrette. I think it tastes so much better than bottled, although in a pinch, bottled can be much easier!

  2. Thank you Maris! Some bottled dressing is pretty good, but much of it is too sweet. I do keep some on hand though for when I am in a rush!
