TWD: Baking with Julia (rewind) -- French Strawberry Cake, but not really
The French Strawberry Cake is made with a genoise batter which I just don't like. Genoise is a dry cake that usually needs to be moistened with something like a fruit syrup. So instead of making the whole recipe, I made just a fraction of it and had enough batter for four cupcakes. I topped the cupcakes with a chocolate-strawberry ganache--regular ganache with strawberry preserves mixed in.
I didn't eat any of the cupcakes because, again, I don't like genoise. But Dave thought they were good, so I'm glad that he enjoyed them.
Please visit the hosts: Sophia of Sophia's Sweets
and Allison of Think Love Sleep Dine to view the recipe and to see what the cake is supposed to look like.
