TWD: Baking with Julia -- Lemon Loaf Cake

This week for Baking with Julia we made a simple, but very fresh tasting lemon loaf cake. The recipe is a snap to put together, the only remotely time consuming step is zesting the lemons. I like this cake because it's not too sweet, and it's not greasy like some pound cakes. I do wish that the lemon flavor was a little stronger, so next time I make this I'll add some pure lemon extract.

This cake is perfect to serve with tea and coffee, and it would make a quick breakfast--maybe with some yogurt and fresh fruit.

  1. This looks delicious! And I love that you mentioned that it's not greasy...something that I dislike about most pound cakes. :)

  2. Looks nice! I looked at the recipe more than once to see if I was missing the lemon juice - it seemed like it should have more lemon in it.
