I am always on the lookout for new veggie burger recipes, and this Chicago Diner Burger is a winner. It's made with basic things like celery, mushrooms, and oats--no weird or hard to find ingredients. You bake the patties in the oven and then you finish cooking them on the grill for a nice smoky flavor.
The recipe is easy to follow, though next time I make the burgers I'll change a few things. Instead of using water to cook the veggies, I'll use vegetable broth. I'll also add more soy sauce, some hot sauce, a little spicy brown mustard and maybe just a bit of salt--all in an effort to boost the flavor.
This is a great recipe to have with grilling season fast approaching; these burgers are so much better than the ones you can buy at the grocery store.
You can find the recipe here.
