The Daring Bakers -- Tiramisu -- SPLAT!

The February 2010 Daring Bakers’ challenge was hosted by Aparna of My Diverse Kitchen and Deeba of Passionate About Baking. They chose Tiramisu as the challenge for the month. Their challenge recipe is based on recipes from The Washington Post, Cordon Bleu at Home and Baking Obsession.

There is not much I can say about the tiramisu this month since I didn't even have the chance to taste it. I made all of the components except the mascarpone, (I couldn't find any cream that wasn't ultra-pasteurized), assembled the tiramisu in a trifle bowl, chilled it, and just as I was taking it to the table to serve, I dropped it. Splat--broken glass and tiramisu all over the floor. Dave braved a spoonful from the bottom of the bowl that seemed glass-free, and he said it was delicious.

Thank you to Deeba and Aparna for hosting the challenge this month--tiramisu is a fun dessert to make.

Please visit The Daring Kitchen to see all the amazing versions of the challenge!

  1. Oh no!!! I would have cried.

That said, the photo with the broken glass is lovely, and you wouldn't have gotten that pic on purpose! :)

  4. Oh no!

I think I would have sworn first. And then cried.

But (aside from the broken glass) it does look good!

  5. It still looks delicious, and Dave was very brave and nice to take a taste. What a disaster though; I'm sorry to hear that your hard baking work just turned into cleanup work.
