Mary, from The Food Librarian, chose Dorie's Banana Bundt Cake for this week's TWD. It's a very simple cake to make with a very pronounced banana flavor. I decided to make only half the recipe, so I baked it in an 8-inch springform pan. I added some dried cranberries for extra fruitiness, and some hemp seed for a bit of nuttiness. Instead of an icing, I topped the cake with powdered sugar and banana slices sauteed in butter, sugar, and brandy.
I haven't tasted the cake yet as I'm waiting for Dave to get home since he is the banana lover in the house. It sure smells good though.

That cake looks really tasty - especially with those banana slices! I was considering adding flaxseed to the cake but unfortunately decided not to. I'll try it next time because I love flaxseed!
