New Pink Knife -- ouch!

I have a rather large collection of knives, some are high quality, and many are not. I find that if you take good care of a decent knife, it will last just about forever. I've had some of my knives for 20 years. Anyway, I saw this cute pink knife on QVC for something like $12. I love pink cookware and pink food, so I investigated this knife; surprisingly, it received very good reviews.

I received the knife a few days ago and I'm pleasantly surprised! It is VERY sharp and quite durable. It's not really thick enough to cut things like big raw carrots, but it does a wonderful job with things like fruit or cheese. I love my pink knife.

Sadly, I am very, VERY clumsy and I cut the heck out of my finger when I was dicing apples. So, if you do buy this knife, please be careful!

Here's the link to the knife:

  1. Cute knife...I love high quality knives as well and find that they are well worth the investment. Be more careful though and thanks for not showing what's under the bandage :)

  5. Ow. Yes. Been there. I'm slowly amassing my own collection--my favourites are at both ends of the price spectrum...funny, that.

  6. Ow. I could see you doing some damage with a knife like that. Keep it in the slow lane until you're used to it. ;)

  9. Did you know that the less sharp knives are the ones with more chances to get you cut?
With bad knives, you are applying lots of forces to cut... and with a bad move, that means a nasty cut in your finger. Ouch!

  10. Nice to see you on the blog surfzone!

You're right about dull knives being dangerous; I've had many cuts from my knives that needed sharpening. This cut was because my hands were wet when I was cutting the fruit and the knife slipped. It's just me being clumsy!

  11. Well, that's another thing LOL!
I am not veggie (my town, Vic, is known for its pork industry), but I do enjoy eating vegetables a lot... and as a self-taught cook, it is always a pleasure to try new things at home :-D

  13. Sadly for you, my blog is only in Catalan :-(

But anyway, if you like any recipe, ask for its translation! (After all, I am a professional translator)

  14. I didn't know you were a translator! Neat. And yes, I'll ask for translations of your recipes. I can usually get a good idea of how you made something from flickr.
