Peaches!

Last spring we were shopping at a discount grocery store and there was a big box that said fruit trees. There was only one tree left in the box, a peach tree, and it looked rather shriveled and very neglected. I felt so sorry for the tree I bought it (for about $5.99) and planted it in our backyard. I really had no hope that it would actually grow any fruit, but it was a pretty tree regardless. It must be a very grateful tree--being rescued from certain death in the back of the discount store, because it is giving us lots of peaches. There are at least 50 peaches on the one small tree. Last year there was about a dozen, but this summer we have a peach bonanza. Neat!

  1. Wow, it is looking so lush and bountiful. Shows what a neglected plant can produce with a bit of tender care.

  2. That is so cool! I just bought a bag of fresh peaches from the farmer's market last night. I can't wait to eat them. Yum! Enjoy your peaches. Can't wait to see what you make with them.

  4. Yay fresh peaches! I didn't thin the peaches on my tree when they were tiny and now I have a zillion two-bite peaches. Ooops!
