Last spring we were shopping at a discount grocery store and there was a big box that said fruit trees. There was only one tree left in the box, a peach tree, and it looked rather shriveled and very neglected. I felt so sorry for the tree I bought it (for about $5.99) and planted it in our backyard. I really had no hope that it would actually grow any fruit, but it was a pretty tree regardless. It must be a very grateful tree--being rescued from certain death in the back of the discount store, because it is giving us lots of peaches. There are at least 50 peaches on the one small tree. Last year there was about a dozen, but this summer we have a peach bonanza. Neat!Friday, June 26, 2009
Peaches!
