This recipe was not difficult to make, and had a very nice flavor. I really liked the cinnamon in the custard. The sour cream in the topping was also a nice touch. The only minor problem I had was that the filling stayed quite soft, making it difficut to cut the pie. Not that it mattered in this case, as Dave didn't even bother to cut it, but if I was serving this to guests it may end up looking a bit disheveled on the plate.
I was not able to get a very creative photograph of the pie, as the minute I finished putting on the whipped cream, Dave swooped in with a fork in his hand, grabbed the pie and plopped down in the big rocking chair. I was lucky to even get a taste without him biting my fingers.

ReplyDeleteThe pie looks yummy!! I can just see Dave grabbing the pie, glad you didn't get hurt in the process. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pie. My husband loved the pie too. Not that I didn't like it. He just liked it way more.

ReplyDeleteKristy- I wish I could figure out how to bottle Dave's metabolism!
ReplyDeleteSandy- You know how much Dave LOVES his desserts!
Wendy- Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Your whipped cream looks so pretty, like ocean waves :)
ReplyDeleteWell, all of the whipped cream on top looks decadent and tempting. No wonder he swooped in with a fork! :o) Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pamela!
ReplyDeleteMay not be able to see the pie, but if that whipped cream on top is any indication, the pie was perfect. Glad to hear you have all your fingers. Hard to bake with some missing. Looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThank you! You leave the sweetest comments!
ReplyDeleteMichele - would love to try the pasta you mentioned from Lidia Bastianich. Sounds like a fun way to make pasta. If you get a chance leave it on the blog or email it to me.. Thanks in advance and glad you came by....
ReplyDeleteYour pie looks delicious! I had the opposite problem, my custard was too thick. I'm going to work on perfecting it, which means more banana cream pie!
ReplyDeleteThanks Annette!
