The Cake Slice - Chai Cake

Yes! Another online cooking group. These very talented bakers make delicious and gorgeous multi-layer cakes once a month. I am excited to be part of the group as it gives me a chance to work on my cake decorating skills. I know how to decorate cakes in theory, but am not very good at it in practice-too impatient.

This month we made Chai cake with a cream cheese-honey icing. The cake was especially delicious-fragrant with cardamom from the Chai tea. The frosting was also very nice, and very sweet. I think when I make this again I'll make cupcakes and just use powdered sugar as the topping. The cake has so much flavor there is really no need for frosting.
This is the book we are currently baking from. There are so many luscious recipes that I'd love to bake them all.

Here is the recipe for the Chai cake. http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dcch78fx_19g66gdfgr

Thank you talented bakers for letting me join your group!

  7. I just cut out a recipe for Strawberries with Tea-Infused Cream. I didn't realize you can do so much with tea besides drink it. These strawberries look so good and seems easy enough for even myself to make. Your cake looks wonderful. I love layer cakes.
