Fig-Plum Bread

I made this bread using the fig-plum jam I made. It was nice and moist but took ages to cook through. This is a lovely holiday bread.

Here is the original recipe. I substituted the mashed figs with my jam and used pistachios and walnuts instead of pecans. The original recipe is at kymmco.com.

3 eggs
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups mashed ripe figs
3/4 cup oil
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans

Beat eggs, add sugar and beat well. Add fig puree and oil. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Add the fig mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Beat well. Fold in pecans. Bake at 350F for 1 hour in a greased and floured loaf pan.
