Chunky applesauce

We had a huge bowl of apples that needed to be used up and I was too lazy to make a pie or tart. Instead, I made this really simple applesauce. I peeled and diced up the apples and put them in a pot with the juice of a couple lemons, a ton of cinnamon and nutmeg, and some sugar. The sugar is to taste, I like applesauce that is a bit tart. I poured in some apple juice, but you could use water, and I cooked the apples on low heat until they were mushy. You need to keep a close eye on the apples since they can burn easily. Add liquid if the pot gets too dry. This applesauce would be really wonderful with ice cream!
